Sunday
school :- was conducted regularly from
the beginning of our church. Our Sunday school is
one of the best Sunday schools in the Diocese. Mr.
K.V Varghese and Mr. M.A Chandy served the Sunday
school as teachers and Headmasters for more than half
a century. Now Mr. K.G. Mathewkutty, Karimoottil has
been serving as the headmaster.
Youth
Movement :- The Youth Movement in Mundiappally
is one of the best Youth Movements in the Diocese.
It started functioning from 1947. Our Youth Movement
produced several eminent persons like Prof. George
Koshy & Prof. Ninan Koshy whom served as the Secretary
of the CSI Synod and as the Director of International
Affairs of the World Christian Council respectively.
Now one of our members, Sam.V. Jacob is working as
the Regional Secretary of the Youth Movement. In the
year 2006 our Youth Movement is celebrating it's Platinum.
Jubilee.
Choir :- The Church Choir
was started in 1948 by the then vicar Rev. K.P. Philip.
Now our choir is one of the best choirs in the Diocese.
In the recent years, they were able to release to
cassettes and CD's.
Women's Fellowship
:- Women's Fellowship is functioning smoothly.
They are conducting fellowship meetings on every Tuesdays
in the different wards. The common meeting is conducted
on every Saturdays at 3.30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.
Almaya Fellowship
:- Almaya Fellowship is holding it's meeting
regularly and participating in District and Diocesan
level meetings.
Gospel Work :- Mundiappally
Church gives top priority in missionary work. We are
sponsoring 13 Missionaries in the different parts
of India. Some of them are working in the different
Mission Fields namely Rayalaseema, Thekkumattala,
Parakal and Andhra under the different Dioceses of
C.S.I. and some others are working as missionaries
of various organisations namely F.M.P.B, I.E.M, Viswavani,
Missions India, Every Home Crusade, Tribal Mission
and the Charkari Mission. Besides we are helping the
Mysore Mission.
Rayalassema Mission
:- The Rayalassema Mission is the pioneer mission
of our parish. Our parish was planning to sponsor
a missionary of the Parakkal Mission when Rev. P.D
John was the vicar. The late Rt. Rev Dr. M.M John
Bishop requested him to sponsor two lady missionaries
to work among the women of Rayalassema Diocese. We
accepted the request of John Thirumeni and sent two
missionaries, Sr. Thankamma Sathyanathan and Sr. Rachel.
Later Sr. Thankamma Sathyanathan's services were needed
by the sisterhood of the Diocese to work in Bethelashram
at Parakkal. So we send the first missionary from
our parish Smt. Ammini Paulose , Thuruthumala to Rayalassema
Diocese.
Smt.
Ammini Philipose :- She worked earnestly
in the Rayalassema Diocese. The Bishop of the Rayalassema
Diocese appreciated her services. Later she was ordained
as a sister of the C.S.I. When the Rayalassema Diocese
was bifurcated, as Rayalassema and Nandyal Diocese,
she became a missionary of the Nandyal Diocese.
Cottage Prayer :-
Our parish is divided into seven area groups.
In each area, group prayers are conducted on Sundays
at 8 A.M. All are participating in the prayers in
their respective areas.
Conferences :-
Our Parish hosted District level conferences
of the Youth movement, Sunday school and Women's Fellowship.
Diocesan Youth
Conference :- Diocesan Youth Conference
was held here in the year 1999. The conference was
a great success. We are very much thankful to the
able leadership given by Rev. Dr. P.K. Kuruvilla for
the success of the conference.
Diocesan
Sunday school Conference :- Diocesan Sunday
school Conference was held in our church in 2003.
Sunday school students and teachers from the different
parishes of our Diocese attended the conference. This
conference was held during the time of Rev. Dr. P.K.
Kuruvilla and was a great success.
Social
Activities :- Our parish takes great interest
in Social activities.
Educational
Aid :- Financial assistance is given to
the needy students without any discrimination for
their education. Financial assistance is given for
the treatment of the needy and the sick.
House
Construction :- Seven houses were constructed
and given to our members. One house was constructed
for a non-Christian by the Youth movement.
Community Marriage
(Samooha Vivaham) :- Five couples were
united in holy matrimony in our church under the auspices
of the Youth Movement with the help of our members
here and abroad.
Endowments :- Now
there are 48 Endowments given by our members. The
interest accrued from these Endowments are given for
various purposes like Educational Aid, Merit Scholarship,
Missionary work, and financial help for the marriage
of the needy ones, Sunday school and prizes for the
rank holders of the different classes in our High
school.
C.S.I
Marthoma Joint Worship :- According to
the request of the C.S.I, C.N.I, Marthoma Joint Council,
we have been conducting joint worship since 2002.
The Mundiappally C.S.I church and the Immanuel Marthoma
Church, Eraviperoor are participating in the joint
worship. C.S.I communion service was celebrated in
Eraviperoor Immanuel Marthoma church and the Marthoma
Communion Service was celebrated in Mundiappally.
Eco-Club
:- The C.S.I church is taking much interest
in Ecological matters and all of the C.S.I Dioceses
are participating in this. Our Madhya Kerala Diocese
also took active steps in preserving the environment
and declared 2005 as 'Green Parish Year'. In our parish,
under the initiation of the Youth movement, we have
started an Eco-Club. Prof. Susy Abraham is working
as the Convener of the club. Different activities
are being conducted under the auspices of the Eco-Club.
We are happy to mention here that our parish was selected
at the Synod level for the Green 'Parish Award'.
